I am looking for the most econimical choice of course, but it is also very important that it is legal. Itunes seems a tad high for 1 song. Also, since both my daughter and I have Ipods it would be great if it were a bit cheaper or if there was a way to get 'x' amount each month for one price. Thanks!

u can try walmart..thats 88 cents a song..but napster i think doesnt support ipod but u can try that..maybe rapsody..im not totally sure about subscription sites..but walmart is the cheapest individual pricing that i have seen...

As far as I know, all the websites that let you listen to 'x' songs a month for a set fee have restrictions that mean you cannot put the music onto an iPod. In fact, I think most music that is bought over the internet is protected in a way that means iPod's cannot play it. The reason for this is that Apple want you to only use iTunes to download music.
However you can still buy normal CD's and, using the iTunes software, put the music onto your iPod. I suspect that this is the cheapest way to get music that will work on iPods.

iTunes is best. The price isn't high, it's just how much songs cost these days. And if you go to buy the whole album, you can easily see how the album prices are the same everywhere.

Itunes is the best. You might try Walmart.com. I think it is only $.88 there so it's not really that much less than itunes.
