How much should it cost to join a fairly good gym in Manhattan, New York. Something equavalent to Holmes Place or Fitness First in the UK

Is there likely to be a joining fee?

I would check out the website lilsted below. It's good at helping you find a gym or health club in your area. They'll be able to give you a general price over the phone, but unfortunately, you'll have to take a tour for most gyms/clubs to give you specific pricing. Even though it's Manhattan, you should still be able to find something in the $40-45 range, and possibly less, depending on where you work.
