The 55gal sounds like a better deal. If you got the 90gal you could end up spending an extra $50 on rocks, decorations, and a good air pump. A 55 gal kit from walmart usually costs about $200 and again it just has the tank hoods and filter along with some starter chemicals and sample food. I think your best bet would to buy the used. Good luck and Happy New Year

Well the used 55gal. sounds the cheapest but it may have cracs or places were there isint any sealent. Also, the 55gal. tank at walmart is $144.99 plus the stand is $76.99.

Bigger is always, always better. Fish grow continuously during their whole lives, and besides that, the environment in a bigger tank is more stable, and overall much easier to manage than a smaller tank.

Ok you actually need the biggest tank you can afford as it is a myth that fish only grow to the capacity size of the tank, they don't they grow and grow and grow

do you want to breed them?? if you do, i think a 55 gal. one would be better because you don't want the fish to lose eachother. if you're not expecting fry, bigger would be better.

(if you're gonna breed sumthin, don't put rocks in there)
