I have met Raven and Billy Currington in Iowa
I just got back from Chicago and we found out you have to be over 18 to see the show
I have been to California, Florida, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nabraska, Indiana, Colorado, Minnisota, and Navada

If you want to be around people in the entertainment business, then study to be a part of it. You could be an agent, an assistant, a casting agent, a talent scout, a hospitality person, an entertainment lawyer... the sky is the limit. Decide in which capacity you want to be around celebrities and then start working toward it.
Or, ya know....just call the Oprah show for tickets and go to a taping. :)

I think step one involves moving from Iowa. I don't think anyone on your list frequents that area.
At the least plan a vacation in a city that entertainers like to visit and hang around outside the clubs they are often seen at. If you are planning to visit Chicago you could request audience seats for the Oprah show which might lead to your meeting her depending on what gimmick the show is based on that day..

Go to her show in Chicago to meet Oprah. As for the others, try restaurants in LA like Tao, Nobu, the Ivy.

Meeting a star? About the only way that will happen is if they are in town for a benefit.
You can write to them..most of the stars have addresses to write to (not their home addres) listed on the web.

Well it would be difficult. You would have to find out if they are going to be doing any tours or anything of the such. Find out the location and other things like that. It is a very difficult task. You might have to do some sierous travil your self. Good luck to you. I know the feeling.

I live in Iowa as well. I've met a few celebrities (no one of great fame like Oprah), but still celebrities.
Every single celebrity I've met, I met while traveling. :)

be a famous book writer, and go on oprah, be a director, and direct some movies, and become an actor, and work with them! (the book is the easiest I think)

Why don't you move to LA and try and get some work as a TV/movie extra? You might get lucky and do a movie with one of them. Or, better yet, get involved in the charities they support. You might get to meet them AND you'd be helping people.
