We had a nasty fight some months ago. We work together and I have to see her every day. But she hurt me badly, bad-mouthed me with all our common friends and still I have to put up with her -both professionally and socially- like none of this ever happened. How can I deal with this in a way that does not bother me anymore?

me and my ex best fiend are also really distant. and we have 3 classes togethr, so i know your struggle. what i have found to be best is talk to her/him only wen you want to, unless you have to. if you have to, then be proffessional about it, you have a job to do. as for talking to them because you want to, then talk to them as you would any other friend. go along with the "this never happened" because thats the best way to move on. if you hold a grudge or bad memories, then you are weighing yourself down. move on, or otherwise be standing in this same situation a year from now. i hope this helps, bye!!!!

If you have to be around her constantly and have no option over it then I'd recommend you trying to speak with her about the issue. You may not want to say you're sorry but it might prompt her to say it back and then, at least, you and her can be civil in the work-place and at social gatherings. Try not to bring up the past a lot when talking to her just explain that you find it difficult to work with her with these unresolved issues and who knows... she's probably feeling the same!

That's a tough one because you can't avoid her. You could ask for a transfer to another department where you wont see her that often. If that's not a possibility and you feel so strongly about it, you may want to start looking for other employment, before you two blow out in the office.

Confront her. Maybe people are just talking SH*t. You "heard" she was talking bad about you. Why don't you ask her, give her a chance to defend herself. Maybe she did say it, but maybe she didn't.

Say "You know, something is bothering me, because I considered you a good friend. Someone told me you were talking bad about me, is it true?"

See what she says. Give her the benefit of the doubt.
