Get some'salts' from the pet shop these will act as a tonic and will be ok in a day or so.Check to see if there are cotton wool type growths (fungus) or tiny tic -like animals on his body/fins.These could be more serious but again can easily be treated with a few drops of the appropriate chemical(ask the pet-shop owner). I should also get him a companion and as big a tank/pond as you can. Fish are excellent pets and very theraputic and relaxing to watch.

Yes it is bad and a sign that he is unhappy and stressed out. If you have only just bought him it could be the stress of moving him. I would recommend that you get him some Stress Coat. Fish like privacy so after treating him leave him in peace for a while when he wants to show himself he will. Good luck, I hope this is useful.

He could be sad from being moved around. buy some de-stress and fish tonic from the pet shop. should be fine in a few days. if not he may just have a paralised fin. if he swims ok anyway don't worry he won't know any different.

Yes. I think it really maybe bad if his top fin if down. He/she maybe ill and you should either take him back or leave him for a while and see how he does. If he's no better tomorrow then you should see a vet or take him back and ask what is wrong.

I think it is best to leave him to see how he does
