can you upgrade a 1969 Ford F-100 Stepside Pickup to a 4x4 truck?

i have my greatgrandads truck its a 69' Ford F-100 Stepside shortbed Pickup. and my dad just got a friend to get it working and all just running tho and we are going to take on it piece by piece. and i was wondering if i could make it a 4x4 truck i mean i know nothing aobut engines or cars or trucks so idk i mean i think they said its a V6 idk i saw online it said I6 whatever that is so plz help with anything really

I dont know(its probably) Not A v-6cyl.Probably A inline 6cyl? But you can get any part you need in A (year one) cataolg.To change to 4x4 it takes alot! A transmission for 4x4 A tranfer case and driveshafts? Front differential suspention. A shift for 4x4 and cut out the floor for the shifter,And A shifter.boot.And your rear springs.The rear end, or gears insde the rearend. The gears must match\ rear and front differential.And the transfer case must match each other.Also your tires must be the same size.

Yes you can, but it all depends on how much money you have to spend. You have to change the front end, the rear drive shaft needs to be changed, you need a transfer case/mounting hardware, a front driveshaft. Your truck either has a 302V8 or an inline 6 engine. Its easy to tell the difference just count the spark plugs.

Its and In line 6 which will run forever but you can do anything you want you can have anything custom made to fit that truck just how much its going to cost you i font know but it is for sure possible
