I'm with you.. right up to the 51st state remark.
Hindsight is 20/20.
Sadly, we learn much in the reflection on the past...
To cvq3842: Thank you for the link. I saved it to my "favorites". But have you considered that those resolutions were created on what we now know to be manufactured, or if that is uncomfortable for you, incorrect information? When government officials "misrepresent" to obtain their personal objectives even and especially when those officials hold the highest offices of this country....Americans owe it to themselves.... It is their duty as Patriots to make their government officials accountable!
Government officials need to remember they were elected to those positions to benefit their country and it's citizens! NOT to benefit from them!!

As far as Katrina goes, I've seen other cities torn apart by NATURAL DISASTERS and they have NOT blamed President Bush. They got off their a**es and rebuilt or are still rebuilding their homes, businesses, city, towns. We (meaning myself and family) sent HUNDREDS of dollars for the Katrina victims and we heard nothing but bit*hing from them. The local government FAILED to get those people out and some people were negligent in getting out themselves. Insurance companies had so many claims from New Orleans, which means people had cars that were insured, which means they chose to stay there.
I'm so sick of people blaming the President for someone elses stupid idiotic mistakes. Some that were saved from Katrina don't even want to go back. New Orleans is slowly being rebuilt, but it's a sad day when society EXPECTS our government to do everything for them instead of getting off their as*es and doing something about it. Nagen and Blanco totally screwed up. Put the blame where it belongs.
Money is sent to anyone who suffers a natural disaster, people get up and move on, those that suffered from Katrina are no freaking different!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A LOT of US dollars were spent on the Katrina cleanup and a large percentage was stolen. But that's nothing compared to the cleanup that would be required if terrorists could destroy anything they wanted. The Iraq money is being spent to destroy terrorists. Are you against that? Yeah, I guess you are.

Billions are being spent toward the Katrina devastation.. I think you missed the news this morning when it was announced that New Orleans is sliding into the sea... which will make it almost impossible for the engineers to predict what needs to be done to improve the levee system.. So now begs the question , do we continue to drops billions onto a sinking city..??

I'm more concerned about the trillions being spent every year on unConstitutional outlays - social security, medicare, education, welfare, etc.
As for the Big Sleazy, there is no Constitutional authorization for them to recieve ANY federal (i.e. money taken from MY pocket) to rebuild their stinking slums.
It's too bad for the US that so many people have so little knowledge of the Constitution that they do not understand the destructive power of unlimited government spending.

"an entire country that we blew up for lies" ... That is false, perhaps it is a lie. Saddam ruined his own country. We want to fix the damage he did, but the enemy is stopping us, and the enemy is causing more damage. The enemy damages oil refineries and damages electricity plants, and then our stupid media cries about "less electricity than when Saddam was in power." Way to applaud the terrorists, media morons!
If we succeed in freeing Iraq, and Afghanistan, and other Middle Eastern dictatorships, then we'll end international terrorism. But I guess that's not important to you, you'd rather give taxpayer money to people who live below sea level in hurricane areas. Wow, I hope you don't vote.

Gosh Middy, It's too bad that we're spending so much money in Iraq. You have the right idea, if we hadn't done anything about terrorists blowing up America, like going after them where they got their training and financing, we'd have a heck of a lot of bombings of anything worth while.
That would give us a real good chance to spend money here fixing up everything they destroy. Not only would we be able to spend our money right here, but we'd be able to spend many times as much.

LOL you are SO DIPLOMATIC!!! : )
Read this:
http://www.michaelparenti.org/IRAQGeorge2.htm
All that $$$ is coming from our tax dollars. The millitary budget far exceeds anything else (welfare is just a small budget compared to the military). And read WHY we need such a military.

There is plenty of money going to help rebuild after Katrina... its the local governments in the areas that are messing it up and not spending it properly... Spending money in Iraq is forward thinking and saving us money that would otherwise have to be spent to rebuild places blown up by terrorists... Since we've been there, no other buildings have fallen here... good investment if you ask me.
