According to the following paragraph, it is highly possible. However, I wouldn't guarantee it! I have a friend who was told by her doctor that she was probably sterile after contracting Chlamydia. She had unprotected sex for 7 years with more than one partner, and then got pregnant! It was a shock to both of them (even though by this time she was married to this partner) and neither really wanted any more children. She probably would have been more careful had she known she *wasn't* sterile!

"Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is a general term that refers to infection and inflammation of the upper genital tract in women. It can affect the uterus (womb), fallopian tubes (tubes that carry eggs from the ovaries to the uterus), ovaries, and other organs related to reproduction. The scarring that results on these organs can lead to infertility, tubal (ectopic) pregnancy, chronic pelvic pain, abscesses (sores containing pus), and other serious problems. PID is the most common preventable cause of infertility in the United States."

There is always a chance of being sterile after having PID.
PID can develop from normal vaginal or cervical bacteria or result from a sexually transmitted disease (STD). STD’s chlamydia and gonorrhea, the two most common bacterial causes of PID, if left untreated, can result in adhesions (scarring) within the fallopian tubes, uterine lining, ovaries or other abdominal areas. Fallopian adhesions can lead to infertility and increased incidence of ectopic pregnancy, where a fetus develops outside of the uterus and which can be life threatening.

Bacteria causing PID can spread upward from the vagina or cervix (opening to the uterus) into the fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterus and into the abdominal cavity. PID can take anywhere from several days to several months to develop. Untreated PID infections may lead to infertility, cystitis (inflammation of the bladder), ectopic (tubal) pregnancy, recurrent episodes of PID and chronic pelvic pain.

Best advice is to see your doctor and get him to do scans for scarred tissue.

see your doctor for the answer to that question. how could anyone on here possibly know that for sure without examining you?

If you have been trying to conceive for four years, its time to see the doctor.

I know that PID leaves you more susceptible to ectopic pregnancy, but it is possible to get pregnant after having PID. Only your doctor can tell you for sure.

I'm ponfused by your puestion. If you had a pid a pew years ago, then you're probably not sterile. One day your pid may have a puture pister or prother.
