I was a massive addict. Smoking from the age of 12 i thought I would never give up. I even married a smoker and so the thought of giving up became harder. We both gave up three months ago. And I dont miss it. I never thought I'd say that and I dont even crave it. Today I even thought how the hell did I have the time to smoke! I feel brilliant for it and have no idea why i ever bothered for so long- I FEEL GREAT!
The Answer. I read the Alan Carr Book- giving up the easy way. I would highly recomend it. I had tried all other methods before, cold turkey etc and they didnt work. This guy is clever- you even get to smoke whilst reading the book. Dont rush it. Do it in your own time. Dont skip chapters or skim read you'll ionly have to go back and read it again (like i did when i started). Oh and the language is easy enough to read- not complex and he even has easy way clinics you can book into if that doesnt work.
DONT Stress and dont do it the hard way- do it the Alan Carr way!!!

Keep trying until you give up for good. If you smoke again, be ready to give up again. I had to make several attempts before I finally quit smoking in 1978. On my last attempt, I turned the exercise into a game. The aim of the game was to see how long I could last without a cigarette. It seems to have worked for me. I wish you good luck.

Cold turkey right before bed. By the time you wake up all the physical nicotine craving is gone, it's just the psychological craving that gets to you. You just have to get through the day. Keep as busy as you can. It's a great time to clean out the attic or garage, apply wallpaper or repaint the inside of the house one room at a time. You need projects for a few days or weeks depending how psychologically addicted you are. Good Luck! It's day 2 for me.

Two options: 1) Decide within yourself and (2) Discipline yourself or promise yourself not to smoke again.
I am talking about solid personal decision.

get all your cigs and lighters, ashtrays and other paraphernalia & throw them away.
never light another cigarette, never take another puff on a cigarette.
