there are 40 weeks in pregnancy.
so if you divide that into three trimesters, you get 13 1/3 weeks.
here's a free online calculator that will tell you when each of your trimesters ends as well as your due date, estimated date of conception, etc.

the 13th week ends the 1st trimester. Once you turn 13 weeks then you will be in your second trimester
