You either have to ask "What was Mohammad's contribution..."
or What were Mohammad's contributions".
He established a major religion.
He used his religion to wage war and increase his own power, and thus established the principle of Jihad as major tenet of his religion.
He degraded the status of women to chattel.
He taught his adherents that for men there is a paradise filled with wine, women (houris),and song. Death in the cause of Islam will insure their entrance to this paradise. Hence, things like suicide bombings.
He taught his adherents that one converts to Islam or one dies, hence the situation we are in right now in history.
And yet, there was and is a more peaceful Islam which produced great works of science, of art, and even of tolerance of others.

Muhammad was the person that have establish from the Allah to bring out the Islam religion..
He taught a people based on the holy Koran which was originally from Allah's word..
Muslims people in this generation following his teaching than any other of prophet that appoint by Allah...
Thus he is the last prophet that sent by Allah for his slave..

not very much if you read the answers above. and what he contributed they don't follow like using violence as a last resort, they mistakenly translated it as "first"resort i think. oh there is of course the little mater about women, basically they are just on this earth to breed because they have absolutely nothing to say about anything including they-re kids who are being brought up on the street. well i hope this helps you a bit.

not only that but he left a way of living for all muslims, which was to use violence as a very alst resort.
also he was one of the most trusted merchants of his time
