Absolutely not ~ they did it out of respect for the dead man! I could ask ~ did Michael Jackson bring shame to James Brown's funeral ~ No ~ sheer respect.

No. They are attending the funeral out of respect for President Ford, not for the media or them selves.

I can't see how. They are all Americans honoring a president who has passed away. They honor President Ford, not shame him.

I did notice however that many of the past presidents had a look of deep reflection which could point to them thinking about their own mortality... GW as usual looked blank.
