Gerald Ford was appointed to the Presidency to finish out Nixons term. He had been first appointed vice president. He was an excellent President. Completely devoted to the country. And also completely devoted to bi-partisanship. He ran for office against Jimmy Carter in 1976. He lost mainly because he pardoned Nixon. He far surpassed Carter as President.
