This is a tough choice for me, Rocky was a classic, Rocky 2 was just sweet, and Rocky Balboa was the perfect end to the series. I'll say Rocky 2 is my favorite, which is your favorite?

Gotta go with Rocky III. Mr. T is ruthless! Plus, Rocky had to cope with the death of Mickey, learning that he never fought anyone good to become champion, and dealing with losing to Clubber Lang and seriously bruising his ego.

I'm a big time Rocky fan, to this day I still have to go with the original, in my opinion is in a class all by itself.
After the first one I would have to go with the fourth rocky, much different film from the original but a darn good flick.
Number three would have to come next, I loved the fact that rocky and apollo became close friends in that one and it had mr. T. I follow that one with Rocky V, I dont understand why so many people hated that one, I thought it was very entertaining, I saw the flaws that other people saw, but it wasnt enough to hate the film, it's the most underrated of all the rocky filsm. my next pick is number 2, even though there were some things about I didnt like, like rocky forgetting how to hit the bag and jump rope, I understand he was lacking motivation but that shouldnt have been enough for a fighter to not remember those things, I also felt the fight with apollo was a bit over dramatic, they could've just made rocky the clear winner without having both fighters go down, still a very good movie. That would leave the last rocky, which I recently watched, I have to say it was just ok for me, I expected a lot more. If anything I wish it would've came out ten years ago while rocky was still 50... regardless, I still feel the Rocky series is timeless as well as entertaining.

The thing that makes all of the Rocky movies so great is that they are all part of a larger story. All 5 of the current movies are great, and I'm sure Rocky Balboa will find it's place in the over all plot.

However (guilty pleasure) I think the best moment in the Rocky movies is in 5:

Paulie: No, you listen okay? Rocky, Rocky, he's the real champion, you're just a goddamn joke.
[Paulie pushes back Tommy and Tommy punches him back, Rocky comes back to console Paulie]
Paulie: [to Rocky] Yous hould've left him on streets where you found him.
Rocky Balboa: [to Tommy] Hey! You knock him down how 'bout tryin' knockin' *me* down.
George W. Duke: No, no. In the ring. In the ring. Tommy only fights in the ring.
Rocky Balboa: My ring's outside.

The original one (the first one) is my personal favourite. This is because it had more meaning. More was on the line. It was like he was fighting for his life, and even though he didn't win technically, he still won. He made something of himself.

Rocky two is my second favourite. Especially because of the fight scene at the end.

The new Rocky is quite good too. I'd say just as good at the third one if not better. Definitely worth seeing. I totally agree-it was the perfect way to end the series.
