I have such dry skin, that I can put moisturizer on and in an hour it is terribly dry again. I can't wear foundation becuase of it. I have pretty, healthy, clean skin, just very dry.

Do you know what kind of moisturizer would be best for this? Or even a diet supplement?

It sounds like you don't just have dry skin and you should go to your doctor about it, it might be some form of eczema which you would need cortizone cream for.

What type of moisturiser do you use? If you have dry skin, try to avoid anything containing tea tree or witch hazel (or both) as these dry your skin out terribly, these products are designed for people with oily skin (yes, even people with oily skin need to moisturise too!) and definately not for dried skin.

I would recommened using a deep moisturiser.. Olay has a good range of deep moisturiser and they're not too expensive from superdrug or boots. Or you could use E45 moisturising lotion which is very deep and is designed especially for dry, flaking skin.

You say that you have healthy, clean skin which implies to me you're not prone to acne. In that case, a quite note which strays off the subject, don't use any foundation unless it's a special occasion or if you have really acne prone skin. This will just clog up your pores (no matter how healthy and clean it is) and will provide you with a new problem altogether. If you have the occasional spot (which doesn't make you unclean, it's just the way your skin is) then use some concealer and a dab of powder. If you really want to go for the smooth look then just use a light powder over your face...
Anyway that was off the subject a bit..

Good luck!

I work with animals health, but I suggest some omega 3, during this time of year our skin looses moisture. Omega 3,6and 9 work together, but you need more 3 and 6 then omega 9. Also flax is a great source for that and you can buy omega supplements too.

Also exfolate your skin too even though your dry you need to get that dead layer of skin off of your face. I tihnk nutrogena has a good mosturizer i mix half foundation half lotion together. Also this winter's been messed up as well, cold then hot then warm then a blizard depending where you live as well.

you can try something like aveeno face cream, or oil of olay products, or eucerin dry skin formula it has extra moisturization to smooth and soften your skin and its non-greasy too. There also some good products for the face by avon also.

I hope one of these works for you and if not consider talking to a dermatologist I'm sure they have something that will help you if the over the counter stuff does not work out for you.

use a lotion that contains oatmeal as it works with your bodies natural oil. I have dry skin on my face but I find most lotions cause me to get blemishes. In the mornings I use lotions that have a blend of cucumber and melon and in the evening I use Aveeno unscented. If you are still struggling, try talking with a liscensed beautian. They may have more helpful hints than some docs do.

My son has had eczema since birth, and I have too for most of my life. I use the prescription ointment that my doctor gave me twice a day on the areas that he is prone to get it (behind his ears, behind his knees, ankles, and wrists). I also use baby Aveeno twice a day and it has done wonderful just on dry skin. It's not too exspensive, only like 5 bucks at Wal-Mart. Good luck!

Oil of Olay is good and so are vitamin E capsules. You may also want to see a dermatologist for some more help.

I have the same problem on my cheeks. I find it helps to use baby oil, germoline or moisturise(for dry skin) though not all at once.
