If you buy a sim free handset you can use them with any network other then 3 as they will only work in 3 handsets. As for the settings for picture messages etc your provider (in this case o2) can send these to the handset for you,

it might work out cheaper to buy the fone on the o2 network as sim free work out a little bit dearer. All ur settings MMS, GPRS will be sent to ur fone via text message and u will be asked 2 install them, you will not lose out on anything pictures..etc.. buying sim free means u wont have a network provider screen saver which nobody wants anyway.

as long as it not locked to a network which it sholudnt be if its sim free.if it is just get it unlocked(try your local market there is always someone there who does them).and once you put your sim in o2 will send you all the settings you need
