This is my second deployment over to Iraq. All I have ever heard was about who was killed or that a US service member or members committed this atrocity. I have yet to see in the media about how soldiers are doing great things for the people of Iraq.

No way. 650,000 Iraqis dead outweighs all good news.

I mean, really, it does.

The soldiers may perhaps be the only people doing great things for the people of Iraq. That's a positive and a negative at the same time.

Many of us do appreciate what you are doing.
It is discouraging to me too, a US civilian, that the news media will not report the great things that are happening in Iraq. I know that not only US soldiers, but Iraqis of all walks of life are risking life and limb for the future of Iraq.
I would like to hear more about this in the news.

It is what brings the money in for them. You of all people should know how twisted the media can be. They didn't even report on what I did when I was over there. They also twisted facts severely about who was doing the work....a lot of credit went to the Iraqi police and Iraqi national guard...they were just as crooked as the ones we were fighting. Our medics did a lot of good though.

The media always intends to portray Iraq as a very dangerous and insecure area (that's right sometimes) to justify the presence of the U.S troops over there. It's justified like this : " our troops have to stay in Iraq for sometime in order to preserve peace and security". This way is perfect for the U.S to suck more Iraqi oil!

First and foremost... "thanks for serving our Country"! Despite what it seems, there IS some positive news being reported by the mainstream media. However, you are probably correct in that way too often it's the negative stuff which gets reported... over and over! Keep up the good work. It is appreciated, and eventually reported. Otherwise, I for one, would not be aware of how our troops have helped with rebuilding schools, hospitals, and other community activities.

Read Bias in the News Media by Bernard Goldberg. It's scary how biased the news is.

Its not a part of the liberal agenda of the media. CBN is a good place to hear something positive there.

Those kind of stories don't bring such an high audience like the ones about killings,so they see no reason to make them public...

because they do not care and they do not want us to be successful in iraq. in other words, they do no want us to win.

also, good news doesn't generate ad revenue.
