will be in the middle of driving and the car will just go crazy first the stereo will shut off by it self, then the ABS and check engine light will go on.Then the speedometer and tacometer needles will go up and down, then the car starts to buck and it will just die out. I can't restart the car after, or even get the key out. I have had to have it towed to the auto mechinic for the thrid time and they can find nothing wrong with it.Except he said the battery was low so he changed that but the problem still persists.
Also after having the car towed sunday night because it stalled out again, when then mechanic got in the car this morning to see what was wrong with it. The car started right up like nothing was wrong. He thinks I am crazy!!! I really stuck the mechanic has had the car for a week and can find nothing wrong with it. Anyone have any suggestions

Is the car warma nd has it been running for awhile? Is there a check engine light on? It could also be the mass air flow sensor. Check the fuel delivery and the charging system too.

It sounds like either the Alternator like the previouse person stated of you have another electrical problem, If you can have the mecanic ride with you and try to duplicate the driving conditions that cause the car to die.

I suggest getting that piece of crap off the road before you cause an accident. Take it to an authorized Subaru Dealer.

I already told you it's the alternator. Did you get it checked?
