I am 30 yrs old, currently on the pill and accidently missed a pill last month. My period was due a few days ago (4-5) and I am pretty regular usually. A few days before my period was due, I started getting breast pains in one breast, which I have never had before. Also generally feeling not great (small headaches, slightly dizzy). Around the time my period as due, there was a small amount of blood, and I wore a tampon as usual (thinking my period had started and they usually last 4 days) but that tampon came out pretty much clean and there has been NO blood since. I thought I may be pregnant due to missing a pill and finally took a test today. It came back negative. If I still have breast pain in a week or so I will go to the doctor for that alone. I'm just wondering if anyone out there who reads this has any suggestions for why I have practically not bled this month and generally feel not quite right, but have a negative pregnancy test. Thanks.

Thanks Trinity, I did take the pill the following day along with that day's pill when I remembered. That is not the first time that has happened as I have been on the pill many years now. This is the first time with breast pain, so I didn't expect there to be any link there, but thanks for the info that that is a possibility. It is the second time I have missed a period (if you discount the very small amount of blood a few days ago). So I was putting two and two together...missed period, sore breast, missed a day with the pill. I still have breast pain and it is only in one breast...Doctor next week for me I think. Cheers

a negative pregnancy test doesn't always been no pregnancy. Take another test.

I am pretty sure that you knocked your cycle out of whack a bit when you missed that one pill. Next time, take the pill as soon as your remember even if you have to take 2 pills at once. Another tip, if you are on the pill for more than 7 days and you miss one, you are still protected because the pills stay in your system for another 7 days. That's why you are still protected when you are on your inactive pills. Breast pain is rather common with the higher estrogen in some pills and if that balance is out of whack it tends to cause hormonal problems like pain in the breast.

Other than that I would suggest you go see the doctor about this. You might not be pregnant but you might have something else that is causing the dizziness and your other symptoms. The pill is indicated to cause blood clots so you want to make sure you are ok. The dizziness is the most concern but you might just have a cold.

I hope you feel better soon and please go see the doctor just in case, ok?
