St John's Wort is supposed to be of help. I would consult a doctor as even though they are natural you need to ensure that you are taking the correct dosage and that there is no potential impact with any other drugs/meds you might be taking.

Exercise is the most fool proof way to combat depression, as it releases feel-good chemicals called endorphins. There is also something called St. John's Wort, which is an all natural herb that you can buy over the counter. It works as a natural anti-depressant, with no side effects. The only thing is that is it usually not dispensed in high enough dosages, so you'll need to take 3 or 4 times what it recommends on the bottle until enough is in your system for you to feel a difference.

depression is a psychological disease & ought to be treated by a phychiatric doctor. don't treat yourself. a depressed person looks at life & surroundings in a negative way and that triggers more depresson. so consult a psychiatric physician for proper treatment. you may have to take medicines for a long period, probably till life. depends on the type and velocity of depression. you can't change doctors 'coz the treatment is 'trial & error' type. in treatment dose of medicine is very important. as the time passes the doctor watches the result and accordingly he changes the doses and if required the medicines as well. don't treat youself or be treated by a family/general physician. the natural way - you asked is to think positively, be of good health by excersises. depression is malfunction of chemicals at the ends of nerves - the simplest way to explain.
