Like, instead of Cy Young, they would call it The Santana Award (Of Course Johan)

Or Instead of Gold Gloves, its Silver Glove... or something, idk. Im just naming some random things right now.

What do you think? Might there be an Award Name Change int he next 10, 50 years? Even 100?

Awards are generally named after a person to honor them. It would be very disgraceful to rename an award like the Cy Young. Gold Glovers or the Silver Slugger on the other hand could be changed. For example the Gold Glove could become the Ozzie Smith award.

Until someone wins more than 511 games I think the Cy Young award is safe.
Gold Glove is cool
Silver Slugger that may be changed
The one that has the best chance I believe is the Rolaids Relief Man Award, that is nothing but a sponsor

I agree with some of what's been said; it's kind of hard to just rename an award that's already been named after someone. As for renaming the Gold Glove Award after an individual, as one person already pointed out, it would be too position specific if you named it after one person. Also, how would you choose one individual anyway? Ozzie Smith may be the best defensive shortstop and Brooks Robinson may be the best defensive third baseman, but how do you decide which is the better defender, unless you name each position's award after a different individual, such as C: Johnny Bench, 1B: ?, 2B: Bill Mazeroski, SS: Ozzie Smith, 3B: Brooks Robinson, OF: Willie Mays, P: Jim Kaat (maybe Greg Maddux if he was retired). If an award isn't named after an individual, than maybe it could be renamed, such as when the All-Star MVP Award was renamed the Ted Williams Award.

Its possible, but like the other answers say, it would be very rude to change the name of an award that was named after the person who started the award.

Of course, if they found a new award it would be totally fine... but who knows, this is the Sports Nation were talking about, if they can change the Basketballs in the NBA, they might (I'm not saying they will) but they might change the award names... or worst, change the baseballs!

What I would do:
Cy Young- keep
MVP- ??? probably keep, I wouldn't wanna call it the Bonds award
Roy- Jack Robinson Award
Gold Glove- Brooks Robinson Award (might be too position specific)
World Series MVP- The Reggie Jackson Award
Rolaids Reliever- for sure change this one, maybe the Eck Award, or the Goose!

The Rolaids Relief Man of the year could be changed to the Rivera award in the AL, and the Trevor Hoffman award in the NL
