Yes too much so. It seems there is no relationship at all. It's in and out all business. I miss the DR actually taking a few minutes to talk to you about your life and health

It's amazing the vast differences between doctors. I have three, OBGYN, Internist, and Orthopedic - they all behave in much the same way. When they come into the examining room they talk as though I am their only patient, never in a hurry (at least it seems so) and never leave until all questions are asked and answered to my satisfaction. However, all of their offices are full and their patients love them, none of them are old, late 30's-mid 40's so they don't come from the old school. I don't feel like just a number and a way of getting a new car or great vacation.
My mothers doctor, on the other hand, is abrupt and many times talking to a salesman or nurses in the hallway or talking on the phone at the same time he is with her. I know, I have been to a couple of those appointments. Questions are not answered or treated as though she should already know the answer. I have encouraged her to seek another one that practices near her home since driving is a problem for her.
I am so grateful for all of mine.

I am lucky to work for a doctor that wants to see his patients regardless of their ability to pay when they are sick. Many a time I have told a patient they need to come in to be checked and they say but I don't have the money to. I then say, look you need help and that is what we are here for. My doc spends a lot of time with his patients.....so what if we are there till 6:30 most nights.
We are even going to begin opening back up on Sat mornings because he says people can't go all weekends without a doctor and some can't afford a ER visit and shouldn't have to.

My doc is old school. We talk about what's happening. He's not an alarmist either. I see so many people with small, easily correctable issues on several medications. Can we say bad medicine?
