I'd say that whatever FDR did in WWII (EXCEPT for the mass internments) should still be legal today.

I don't think FDR was a war criminal, or a tyrant.

(The beauty of this test is that it generally insulates the actions of the current president from politics. Just follow prior established precedents, whatever they are. Then again, technology has changed, but we can try our best to apply prior actions to today.)

But several of the things FDR did to defend us have now been struck down by recent court decisions. That troubles me!

Really, there are those who say the bill of rights is not part of the constitution! Discuss separation of church and state, or state support for religion, and some will spit this back at you.

I dont think it should be banned. However it should not be used to hide behind. The ACLU is worthless and just gets in everyone way. They are about as much good as the Rainbow Colalition.

Well Bush did say things would be easier if he were a dictator.

I think we as all good Americans should just submit to the will of our leaders and stop questioning them. In fact I myself would like to volunteer to have a tracking chip put in my hand, just so they can identify me from a terrorist.
All good loyal Americans should do the same.

Who needs civil liberties and the Bill of Rights when we have such fine upstanding leaders who always do what is best for us?
