Congratulations! I answered your previous question, i'm so pleased you've had your baby safely. All i can say is are you joking? If the baby was any bigger, imagine the agony your wife would've went through. Anyway for the medical side, a baby in the womb on average gains half pond a week in weight, so your wife was about 3 weeks over due, which means the baby will have gained about one and half ponds since her due date, take this away from her actual birth weight and this would be about 12 half pound. So at the due date the baby would have weighed approx 12half pound, so no, it's not small it's huge, considering, the average baby, at the due date point weighs 7 half pound! Hope you understand my waffling!!! Good luck!

14 lb all i can say is ouch. The poor woman. But I would be worried about the doctors they should only let you go 10 to 14 days overdue at the very maximum, they could have put them both in real danger. I personally love chunky babies, they are the cutest. Enjoy your not so little bundle of joy and good luck for the future.

Its very very unusual for the midwife to let the pregnancy go past 14 days over due as the later the baby the more likely there are to be complications.
As the plecenta would have started to deteriate before 20 days I was going to congratulate you on the delivery, then I read your other questions and answers and realised you were being a clown and have nothing better to do than waste other peoples time so I wont bother.

ONLY 14lb 7oz!?! Thats huge! Mine was 1 day late, but still considered a tad on the large side at 9lb 2oz. I think the average new baby weight these days is 7 to 8lbs...
So no, thats not small, thats huge. I do hope you are looking after your poor wife!

This has to be a joke. No doctor would let a woman go 20 days over due and no one would think a 14 lbs 7 baby was small.

Are you being genuine with this question?! I had a baby who was a couple of weeks overdue and she weighed ten pounds and was bigger than friends' three month old babies. I hope that your wife had a Caesarian Section - otherwise - ow!!! All the best and enjoy your baby.

A healthy weight for a newborn at around due time is 7lb 8oz ish. But even so the weigh of your newborn is very large. At least mum and child are safe and healthy. ohh and congratulations!

Did she deliver the 'Giant' normally. Seriously that is one Big baby, average birth-weight is 7-8 pounds. I'm also surprised they let her go so far over the expected date! it is usually less than 10 days.
I hope Mum and Baby are well and Congratulations, Welcome to parenthood!

yes its far too small. I weighed 120 pounds at birth and have put on at least 5 stone each year. feed plenty of pies to your baby and hope for the best
