There may never be agreement on this matter. The official story is that Oswald acted alone. But many people do not believe that. No one ones for sure. Will we ever know? Will the truth ever be known? Will any new information ever come to light? (If there is any new information)?

I think the only way we will ever know the truth is if someone with accurate knowledge about the assination releases that information in the future. Personally, I think there was more to it. Whether there was a conspiracy or not though, who knows. But there has been enough information published to lead me to believe that there was SOMETHING beyond Oswald working alone. (Witnesses seeing something at the grassy knoll for example) Even the Warren Commision's report had contradictions in it. This is one of those things that could always remain a controversy.

I believe the truth is known. It is just that some people make a good living writing about the conspiracies and cover ups. Oswald acted alone. He was seriously disturbed and had tried to get into the USSR but had been refused entry. Obviously, in his disturbed mind, killing Kennedy would have won him acceptance with the Soviets. As for the 'grassy knoll', there has never been a shred of evidence to support anyone being there.

My opinion: He acted alone. None of the published accounts that say others were needed sound like speculation to me. Yes, Oswald may have had an easier task if others were involved, but nobody has shown that they were. I have heard many speculations about plots, Russian plots, government plots, combination plots of Americans and enemies. But all the suspicious acts by other people are also more easily explaned by simple errors, blunders, or people acting with incomplete information.
No I do not think we will ever find any proof that someone else helped Oswald. I think he really did it himself.
I think people do make money selling books and movies to the contrary.

Well, I've seen the re-enactment many times and I can't help think the big wigs are involved, I'm not even sure Oswald was guilty, I'm inclined to think a scapegoat is always required to cover up the truth, just look what is happening in the political us field and has always been there, the truth will eventually come out. With DNA it was discovered late last year that the mighty racehorse Phar Lap was poisoned, this has only come about b'cos of DNA, don't give up, the truth will evolve

Jimmy "the Weisel" Frattiano claimed that Giancana (the then Boss of Bosses out of Chicago) gave the go ahead for Marcello (of New Orleans) to carry out the assassination. It involved Castro (who had a grudge after finding out the CIA was behind the Bay of Pigs Invastion) so he got a patsy (Oswald) from the Russians to carry-out the deed. Marcello's beef was a result of RFK's investigations into organized crime. To cover the link to the Mafia, Marcello had Jack Ruby (a two bit night club owner in the Marcello organization) take out Oswald to seal his lips.

Giancana's beef with JFK was his impression that JFK renigged on promises to leave the Mafia alone since he felt he pulled strings in Chicago to get him elected.

Several weeks before the assassination, Oswald met with Cuban agents in Mexico. For inexplicable reasons, the FBI agents who were following up the Cuban connection as a part of the Warren Commission investigation, were recalled back by FBI Central office

JFK was a loose cannon who almost started World War Three. So both the CIA and the KGB had to get rid of him. The Cuban Missile Crisis was unnecessary: we had nukes in Turkey, so there should have been an immediate tradeoff. But the Camelot Cowboy, an heirhead like Bush who treated foreign policy like a food fight at his prep school, frightened everybody who cared about survival. The two agencies also invited Mafia, American leftist extremists, etc., in order to confuse any interpretation. It worked, and thank God it did.

The fatal shots from the grasy knoll were performed by a hitman from France hired by the Mafia. Hoffa was set-up by his "trusted" friends, ie "Chucky" (without thier knowledge) and was lured to a meeting by them. He was killed with an ice pick by the "Irishman" and his body was cremated. All this by the Mafia.
(Information derived from an 88 year old boyhood friend of Frattiano and other "aged out" associates.)
