I assume you have a diesel Kia (no offence, but WHY????) The light you are describing sounds like the heater plug light. When you first turn on the ignition this will illuminate while the plugs pre-heat when the light goes out you can start the engine. If you turn the engine over straight away you can cause damage to your plugs, or also if a fault appears on one of your plugs then the light will flash to tell you to go to garage and get a diagnostic. Shouldn't be too expensive depends on how many are damaged.

Assuming you have a diesel-engined Sedona, it is probably the light for the glow-plugs (also known as heater plus, or combustion-chamber pre-heaters).
In normal use, you turn on the ignition, the light illuminates, and you wait until the light goes out before starting the engine (this is the same for all diesel engines). If there is a fault with the glow plugs (perhaps caused by not waiting for them to do their job before trying to start the engine), the light may indicate this by flashing. You may need to replace one or more of the plugs.
