I send a error report and it says cause unknown, but says its a device driver of some kind.
I can start webcam, and see others webcam without crashin at all. Its when i make a video call that includes sound, thats when i have the problem. Could it be my sound card, or memory prob?? Any ideas? I also notice my local area connection keeps going on and off, and lines go through my webcam display...thanks.

the device manager shows no problems, the p.c has done this since i've had the webcam, but using it doesnt crash the system, only with the sound. I've reinstalled windows twice to see if it missed something, and reinstalled webcam drivers and msn messenger a few times in different sequences to the webcam driver, i'll try the memory check, look at sound card driver, try another messenger at some point, if all fails but a different webcam. thanks

If you can run video without your system crashing and then have it crash when you do a video with audio then I would start with the sound drivers. You may need update drivers for your sound card. Was it working before? Is this something that just started happening? If after updating the sound card drivers and still have problems I would uninstall messenger and reinstall it. The other test I would do to verify it would be to try another messenger system to see if the same thing happens. If it doesn't then I would reinstall MSN messenger. Good Luck.

Well, when yo make a video call it does chew up much more memmory and will cause the Blue Screen of Death. Especially if your using XP with 256mb of ram or less. Sound Card problem? extremely doubtful. Check to make sure that the requirements of your device and what you actually have are compatible. Check the device manager for installed drivers to see if your drivers are installed correctly as well.

Run this memory test to see if it is your memory:
http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

Otherwise, reinstall the drivers for your sound card and webcam.

If that doesn't work, try uninstalling programs you don't need (something may be interfering).
