Visit http://www.paypal.com directly to join. Yes, you can connect your paypal account to a checking account or credit card or whatever. Remember, your bank provides you with many safeguards, and is INSURED. But Paypal is just a money conduit.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

You put in your card details, address etc. Pay Pal make two small deposits after a few days into your Bank Account. You have to go on to the Pay Pal site and enter the two amounts form your statement. The account is then activated. If you wish you can have the account verified and Pay Pal will send you an automated number that you can fill in on the Pay Pal page.
This verifies that you are living at the address stated. But as I said this is optional. It is a very good and easy to follow website and it is difficult to go wrong.

Yes you can, go to www.paypal.com and read the info there. I've used Paypal for about 6 years now, never had a problem, and have dealt with some dodgy ebayers, (been sent stuff that I didn't actually buy) When you place your complaint to ebay if you paid using Paypal and are found to be correct in your claim you will get a full refund of all the money you have lost.
