It doesn't matter whether anyone is Democrat or Republican, if the palm is out and there's somebody around with cash to grease it, that's where you'll find scandal. It boils down to unethical individuals, not a party.

Democrats have had their share of scandals! Look at Clinton. Republicans have been the ones in power for a long time now so they are the ones that are worth bribing. Should be interesting to see how many democrat palms will be greased when they take office.

I first voted in 1972 and truly believed that who made it into office would determine how my life would be. I now believe that it does not matter for the average working class citizen who is elected for any office.
Look at government as a business, because that is what it is. The people check out some bright-eyed person that really means what he says and has strong convictions about what is right and wrong. First, without money for advertising that person will not be known. Where does he/she get that money? Not from the common working person but from rich businessmen and companies. So if the candidate wants to "have an opportunity" to make a positive difference he/she must make concessions to these special interests groups. Some of them truly believe that if they can get into office they can steer the country back "on course". By the time they do get elected they are completely in the pocket of these special interest groups that financed them.
Some people run on a minority ticket making all kinds of promises to the protected classes in order to get elected (Hillary Clinton for example). She appeals to the poor downtrodden minority because she "sympathizes" with them "against" the present administration. She appeals to some women libbers because she is a woman (we think) and they just hate men. All in all, she will do what the fat cats pulling the strings want her to do because she has been neck deep in dirty dealings for the last 30+ years. This is the same with Obama or anybody be the democrat, republican or independant. If you want our politicians to be straight we need to give them (couple extra dollars from income tax) a set amount of money to run with and make it illegal for them to get anything from anybody else.
A person only gets offered and takes bribes when they are in the seat of power.
America still rocks

Ask William Jefferson, a Democrat. He had $90,000 in COLD cash hidden in his freezer that he took as a bribe.
The Dems have just as many scandals as the Repubs... it's just that the liberal media lets the Dem cases go after a brief mention in the news, and conversely runs the Repub cases into the ground.

Does anybody remember the reason the Republicans took over the House, the Senate, and the White House? Corruption, Scandals, etc.

Dems already take bribes. What is your point? The dem that had $80,000 in his freezer just got caught, that's the difference.

Unfortunately it will never stop on either side of the aisle. There needs to be a term limit placed on Representatives and Senators. I recall this getting some attention last year after the Abramoff scandal, but of course it died a quick death.

You have apparently forgotten that the only member of Congress to get EXPELLED in the recent past (like, about 25 years) was a Democrat -- Jim Traficant of Ohio. He was convicted of multiple felonies and was expelled by the House on a near-unanimous vote.

of course dems have scandals
al gore sr. used to be kkk member when he was
a us senator
look at all the suspicious deaths of individuals connected with hillary and bill
the best politician is the person who doesn't run
for office
I honestly believe that all candidates for any
elected position should undergo polygraph
exams to prove their faith and intregity
it would make things easier on voting day

Wrong....the only reason Dems did not have any scandals was due to a very liberal media, who does not report them. Even when they are reported what happens? They do not step down, what does that say for dems? Do you think that if a Republican had driven his mistress to a watery grave, he'd still be in office? Or a Republican clansman? One with bribe money in his freezer? One who punched out a cop? Give us a break please.
