I got it for christmas as my only present and now i can't Figure out how to turn it on.

I would just look at the manuel but my mom threw it away

You should be able to just tap the Play/Pause button on top. If tapping doesn't work, you may have to hold it down for a few seconds. If that still doesn't work, you may have a low/dead battery.
Conversely, to turn the unit off, hold down Play/Pause until the "bars" go all the way across then release button and the player should turn itself off within five seconds. To cancel turn off, simply release Play/Pause before the bars go all the way across--otherwise you're committed!

In the manual that came with it, there should be instructions on how to turn it on, etc.
