if you have bad lower back pain then I suggest you see a physiotherapist, your gp can refer you to a good one that deals with back pain specifically...

I have had shocking back pain since being hit by a car and was totally amazed at the difference it made to see a physio and follow her instructions...

if you have been to a physio in the past and it didnt help dont give up on the idea they can help you just need to find the right one...

and the exercises they recommend are not painful as such but can cause a little discomfort...and will definitely help tighten all the necessary groups of muscles...

strong tummy back and butt muscles will definitely help with the back pain...

in the meantimewhile you are waiting to see a physio just concentrate on each group of muscles one at a time and hold them in for a count of five then release and hold them in again for a count of five...do this with each group of muscles at first do it three times then increase to five then increase to ten...

it is really a matter of getting to know how to hold each group of muscles and how to control them....

Hang from a pull-up bar, lift your legs together, like the letter L. You tighten and strengthen the stomach muscles with very little lower back pain if any at all.
