how stationery wave is reflected back at open end, in the case of open pipes?

i am facing problem in understanding, how a stationery is reflecting back even it is having a choice to propagate in the forward direction, to form a stationery wave.

Yes, if frequency of the wave is resonant with the pipe (no matter open or closed) it will stay inside for a time being, rapidly dissipating though.
