oh *hugs* I get these really bad, sucks don't it?

A hot water bottle really helps, and lots of chocolate! Failing that, pop down to see your dr who can either put you on methanamic acid or the contraceptive pill as pain releaf,

good luck hun,

Bath helps, but only if you wear a tampon, and it being your first period, I'm not sure this would be comfortable for you, as it does take some trial and error to insert and wear it properly (without discomfort)
Advil or Aleve help with pain of cramps and breast tenderness.
Cozy up on the couch and watch a good movie until the Advil kicks in, sometimes it helps to just lose yourself in a movie, and making yourself comfortable does wonders.
Skip your oh so cute jeans, and wear pants that don't hug so tight, like jammie pants or sweats.
Just be lazy today, nap, clam the sofa as your own personal laze zone, and give in a little to the foods you crave (don't pig out, but satisfy your cravings (a lot of women crave chocolate, some crave salty foods, I personally can't get enough dairy products, especially ice cream).
Welcome to womanhood.

IBUPROFEN:

Keep calender of when you have your period (1st to last day bleeding begins and ends) this will help you get a idea of when your next one will be. After you've had several periods and your periods have regulated to a schedual...
A day or two BEFORE your period starts take 2 Ibuprofen every 4-6 hours this well lessen or eliminate cramps before they start ..Continue this regimin till period is over.

If your periods and cramps come before you begin a regimin of Ibuprofen take a first dose of 3 Ibuprofen then every 4-6 hours take 2 Ibuprofen till period is over.

**It takes time for any meds to kick in... try to be patient ..At least 30 mins.** If you are having a hard time waiting sit in a warm bath or put heating pad where the cramps are till the pills kick in.

Different things work for different people you will probably have to try a couple different thing to find one that works for you. Heating pad on stomach and midol worked for me along with laying on my back with butt against the wall and legs up the wall for 20 min or so at a time. Go to your local planned parenthood for ideals if you don't find any here that work or your Dr or even your Mom or sister if you have one. Hope that helps.

Wildman, if this girl just started her period, she is too young to have sex, much less an orgasm silly. She needs to talk to her mother about getting some Motrin or Advil or whatever she takes for cramps.

Eat bananas, they have lots of potassium which helps cramping. And take midol or advil, it'll help, believe me. And a heating pad helps too. Good luck :) And be sure not to eat salty foods and chocolate, because it'll make you feel bloated and gross. =)

Ibuprofen (nurofen, advil, etc.) is the best way. Some people have sucess with Tylenol (acetominophen).
Cramps are worse when you first start. They get milder with age.

Try taking Midol or Pamprin, and soaking in the bathtub. It helps me. Good luck!
