some don't
some think they are sexy
some wear them for comfort, so that coarse materials of pants to not rub them the wrong way
and i am sure there are other reasons

My reasons have generally fallen along these lines:
protect my trousers from occasional drips and dribbles if I hurry from the urinal or an insulating layer from my flatulence
sometimes the swing and sway of walking or running cause some distress that some supporting underwear prevents
it helps my "cool" when playing verbal or mental games with interested parties when my own physical responses aren't protruding into view
if then successful and I haven't time or resources to immediately clean it off, it protects my trousers from the stains of success.

Stepping into a pair of whitey-tighties is simpler than them trying to figure out how to use stain remover to get rid of the brown stains in their pants.
Of course, some men just turn them inside out when the insides get dirty- defeats the whole purpose of underwear.

All good answers so far, but it seems kind of obvious. What it's made me wonder, though, is why women wear underwear? Very little practical reason that I can see, so it must just be 'modesty'. Which is about the only reason NOT given so far by men...

i've found the best underwear to wear have been tights!
they keep the bits in the same place all the time and keep them warm
- they are a blessing in discuise
wish men could wear tights openly!
wish more girls would wear tights openly!

The reason for men is the hygenic support to hanging part, also to assure privacy-coverage as a zip or button may be loosened.

I wear underwear because the lacy sexy panties that my wife helps me pick out at walmart and Victoria's secret make me feel sexy.
