I would say that it would depend on the perameters of the paper. Generally for sociology though i would say find a observable feature of human behavior (one that you are interested in anyway) and develop some sort research project with it (how do people decipline thier kids in public, maybe the culture of starbucks who knows the possibilites are endless). You could also develop some sort of survey to give people about your topic as well. Its aways fun to people watch and if you pick something youre interested in youre more likely to put forth the effort to do a really good paper. Good luck!
