The Cal game was the most unusual and I will always have that picture in my head as one of the funniest "plays" I ever saw. After Elway took Stanford all the way down the field and scored I really thought it was all over. That is why I NEVER turn off a game until it's really over. I don't think the Boise State game can beat that finale but it sure did my heart good to see them win. It was a heads up play at the end and I loved it!

The Cal-Stanford kickoff return was one of the greatest plays ever, but the game itself wouldn't rank as one of the greatest ever.
The Boise St-Oklahoma game is the best ever. Not only was it a great game to watch with some huge emotional swings during the game, it had two of the greatest plays ever - the hook and lateral on 4th and 18 and the behind the back hand-off for the 2-point conversion.
A great start for a heavy underdog, the heavy favorite pressing under pressure to give Boise St a big lead, but then finally getting it together to mount a great comeback, the upstarts finally breaking under pressure to all but lose the game, then that incredible finish.
This was the best upset by win by an underdog since Miami and Bernie Kosar upset Nebraska and Mike Rozier in the Orange Bowl at the end of the '83 season - in fact, it was even better (especially since I'm a Husker fan and naturally hate the Sooners).

Come on, not even close.
I watched the Cal v Stanford game on TV. It was a regular season game. The only thing on the line was whether Stanford would win and go to a weak bowl game.
BSU/Oklahoma was a BCS bowl game, much more significant.
Last year's Rose Bowl with Texas beating USC for the national championship was 1 million more times a better game than Cal/Stanford in '82, AND I LIVE IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA

I wouldn’t put Cal/Stanford as even one of the best games ever. If it wasn’t for the return and the fact John Elway doesn’t play in a Bowl game make the game a good game. However, the game itself was ok nothing as compared to last night’s game or the Notre Dame vs. USC and the Penn State vs. Michigan games last year those were great games.
