Wow, don't think they can win. A woman and a racial minority, in one fell swoop? America's not that progressive. Sorry, I just don't think it can happen. If you want to ensure a republican victory, that would, unfortunately, be one way to do it. I think it's sad that gender and race are obviously still so determinative, but I think it's true. :(

NAY!!! Absolutely NOT! They are, after all, Democrats. Whatever else they are, which since I know almost nothing about Obama and would get all asterisked if I made any comments on HC, I will not elaborate.
Vote Libertarian for a change. I propose Colin Powell for President and Dr. Mary J. Ruwart, author of "Healing Our World In an Age of Aggression" for Vice-President, but someone will have to explain to Powell that he is in fact a Libertarian. I'm not sure he knows.

I say yes.
Consider that there will never be a single candidate in the next 20 years capable of gathering more than 59% of the votes in a presidential election. Why? We are evenly split between conservatives and moderate/liberal, as well as Democrats to Republican.
The way to gather a more unified electorate, is to appeal to a broader base of voters than just conservative or liberal, Demo or Repub.
To break this cycle of 51/49% fractured electorae, you need to put forth candidates or can cross boundries on several fronts. Hillary and Obama do this on several fronts:
1. Woman
2. Black
3. Liberal
4. Moderate
5. Brains
6. Compassion

I think its beside the point shes a woman, the only thing that would drag her down is the baggage she has will Bill. I think Obama would be an amazing candiate but he is still too much of a rookie. I think he needs to work his political career up, everyone says that would be the first african american president. Yes, if you are looking at his skin he is african american, but calling someone african american entails a whole culture that Obama does not embody. Personally I think those two would not be a good decsion, Clinton possibly. Obamas for later

I'd vote for that ticket. I'd rather see Obama for president, but I don't think it will happen. If Hillary wins the primary, Obama will be a great choice for VP. Their new ideas would be very popular and could win the general election even though some idiots would be turned off by race and gender.

Personally, I don't think Hillary or Obama will be on the ticket.
It's going to either be Nancy Pelosi running for re-election, or someone else, like John Edwards, or someone who the media is currently ignoring, e.g. Vilsack or Governor Bill Richardson of New Mexico.
The media loves to focus on the hype of the moment, but Hillary's negatives are WAY to high for her to EVER be elected, so I really hope our party does NOT pick her.

That sounds good, but I'd prefer John Edwards as vice president. He reminds me of John Kennedy in a lot of ways only he wasn't born with a silver spoon, he had to work for what he has. A woman needs to take control of the land and end the warmongering.

It will be an interesting election....
My fear is that the democrats put forward a ballot that many Americans feel they just cannot vote for....a woman and/or an African American. Its clear that the country needs a change away from Republicans, but the alternative may not sit well with the closed minded - and the Republicans will sail back into office by default.
My personal opinion is that the ballot you propose would be brilliant...a fresh start for America.

I'm a huge fan of Dennis Kucinich and would love to see him in office. I'd be happy to have either Clinton or Obama as Kucinich's vice president.
Many people say Kucinich couldn't win because he's not tall enough or because he looks too nerdy or mousy. God forbid we elect a president on his/her platform and qualifications over how tall s/he is, or how s/he looks, eh?
Kucinich wants to see America resume it's role as a citizen of the world by restoring diplomatic ties with other nations.

Barack Obama - fresh, intelligent, sincere, great statesman and shrewd politician.
NOT TO MENTION the shows of support he has been given as he travels throughout the nation have STUNNED all pundits!!...these supporters and cheerers-on are NOT all Democratic; not all minority and more PRO Obama than anti something else.
If we continue to say we are not yet ready for - [woman/minority etc] then we will NEVER be ready!
