We hope not. The people of Ottawa are not prepared to support a football team and the rest of the league is not prepared to bail them out anymore when they get into financial difficulty!! Put a team in the maritimes.

NotPitt's got some good ideas. I'm not sure if the league will ever get non-profit status nor even if they could I'm not sure if thats a good idea but I like the rest of the ideas. Just by lowering salaries and ticket prices there will be at least a little less tax. We don't have to do an end around the tax system thats just part of being in Canada but I do agree that a financial reshuffle would help.
Get rid of the import rule! Canadian athletes are just as good and if an American can take the job then so be it, he earned it.
Oh, and Ottawa? You gotta be kidding. They already got their second chance and blew it royally. I'd rather give a team to the maritimes and then if thats successful...

I very much hope there is a team there again, and soon!
We are the laughing stock of the world when we can't even support a team in our Nation's Capital!
I think they should just cap the salaries for each position, make the league a non-profit status organization, and have all the teams support the league, not themselves.
If a player from USA doesn't want to play for low $$ here in Canada, then screw him. There will always be another to fill his place...
The short-lived XFL had a good business plan. They just tried to rival the NFL and got bullied out, and fast.
Cap the salaries for each position, put cameras everywhere, and mic the QB's. It gets people into the game more.
Things that will make the CFL work:
1. Cap each position: for example:
QB: $100,000/yr
RB: $90,000/yr
WR:$80,000/yr
and so on...
2. Drop the import rule. Our CDN players are just as good these days, especially at three-down football.
3. Get Non-Profit status for the league, it will save millions on the taxes alone. Any team that makes $$ will simply pour it back into the league to help other teams make their payroll!
4. Get teams in Ottawa, Maritimes, and even Victoria or another in Ontario. I didn't even mind having teams in the states. It created more competition.
5. Since the positions will all be capped, then the team Cap will be lowered by millions. That way the league and poor teams will survive.
6. Lower ticket prices. Since salaries will be much lower, lower tix prices will bring in the fans.
7. Offer beer and concession deals to the fans.
For example:
1 beer = $6
2 beers for $11
3 beers for $16
and so on...

Think you're stuck with the Ravens and the Geek-geeks. The CFL is going to be gunshy about Ottawa for decades to come.

I think that there may be but not in the near future because they do not have enough money to keep the team going, and to get it started again.
