Best movies, filmmakers and artistes are from the south. That's why southern movies and artistes have outcasted bollywood in the number of national awards won. Even little known actors like Balachandra Menon and Murali have won best actor awards.. that shows the immense potential of the southerners. Bollywood is just floating on its money and glamour and not genuine talent. Maniratnam, AR Rahman, Santosh Sivan, Ravi K Chandran to name a few... all great technicians in Indian Cinema are from south. All southern language movies have got its own individuality unlike north where the entire industry is swallowed by Hindi... Kamalhassan, Mammooty and Mohanlal have shared eight national awards between them. Mammooty is intense, Mohanlal is flexible and spontaneous and Kamalhassan is versatile.. Thay can be considered best actors even in world cinema. Its a difficult choice because all three are unique and second to none.Since one has to be chosen i would go for Kamalhassan just for his multi skills.

no doubt its Aamir Khan or rather i should say the Ace Khan. HE believes in quality that he delivers the best in every film. the best part about his acting is that we love and remember the characters played by him such as Bhuvan from Lagaan or Aakash from Dil Chahta Hai or DJ from Rang De Basanti and not just Aamir Khan.
I also think that Akshay Kumar is really Cool!! As being from an North American Country and so is Akshay Kumar i think he has the ability to act. He can do stunts as well as many dialogues. Many people say Shah rukh Kahn but i don't think so. srh can only do sensitive acts. And Akshay Kumar can do all these act; villain,sensitive, funny.....

It is Amitabh Bachchan of course. He has done just about every role out there in all the different genre movies and exeeded expectations in all his roles.
Everyone seems to vote for shahrukh here, but he only specializes in roles where he will say some sad lines and make people cry with him. He is very good at those roles but he can't be hired for every role, even though he is an amzing actor.
Hrithik, who is also getting a lot of votes here, is also a very good actor but he has not proved that he can do scenes involving expression of anger/intensity. I can't remember him in any scene where he showed this the way Amitabh does it so easily in any movie he makes.
Lastly, the only actor (that I have personally seen in movies) who comes close to Amitabh's professionalism in all roles is Anil Kapoor. You may have seen Shahrukh or Hrithik not at their best in some of their movies but it is hard to find movies (even bad ones) where Amitabh or Anil Kapoor did not excel in their roles.

everyone has its own fav and so they will always feel that their fav. actor is best actor but sorry its not true.
NOONE (not even srk ) can beat amitabh he is a real actor
