Both versions were the proper .exe versions, not spyware infested ones.

do a virus scan. If you don't have an antivirus get avg from http://free.grisoft.com or use the online scanner from kaspersky http://www.kaspersky.com

Some programs I have seen do need their own user account but normally you need to set this up yourself.

Also make sure you ave a firewall set up this would help prevent anything from connecting to the internet

I don't think the problem is with Limeware and Morpheus. I use Limewire and I have not any problem with it.

I think that your machine is being hacked. You should install updates to your winXP or have a good firewall if you don't have XP. Make sure that your firewall is up and running and updated, and install anti viruses and anti spyware.

Also, you must be aware of what files you are downloading from Limeware and Morpheus. Also check your sharing properties and make sure that only the things you want to be shared are shared and nothing else. The p2p environment is safe because you control what you share, but the files in the network are not controlled and you may have downloaded a file infested with a Trojan.

Be aware that, once you are exposed to a hacker, it is most likely that you are endangering your system. Download the most recent updates for your operating system directly from Microsoft. Install them, and disconnect your computer from internet, look for new accounts and erase them. Also look for newly installed programs and run those anti viruses and anti spyware. You can do also a system restore to restore your operating system to your most recent restore state.

But the best thing to do, and also the last resort, is to backup ALL your data, format your hard disk and install everything again, because sometimes it is really hard to eliminate the "backdoor" where the hackers get in. And, from now on, be sure that what you are downloading is NOT infested. It is a matter of common sense. If an mp3 of certain song is 103Kb, obviously it is not a song!!!

Good luck, and hope that you don't have to re-format!!! LOL

there's only one hope for depression. That is an effective anti depressant medication. Depression comes from a checmical imbalance in the neurotransmitters and the brain and nothing in the world will alleviate unless you compensate for it. The right medication will do it. When you're depressed, you're unable to interact with a therapist by talking or be with or around anyone so talk therapy won't work. Being around people is a waste because the loss of interest makes it difficult to tolerate company and again, verbal interaction. You will have no desire for pets or taking care of animals as it's too labor intensive, too complex and your mind can't handle it. Excercise requires motivation which you have none. Until you can compensate for the chemical imbalance that's causing the depression and anxiety, none of these suggestions are useful.. Once you regain your sense of motivation and desire to do things, only then can any interaction or activity possibly help feel good.. There are ssri's, snri's mao inhibitors and trycyclic anti depressants. Some work better than others depending on the individdual. It is frustrating until you find one that works well with tolerable side effects. If none of these are ever an option, try ect (shock therapy)l

I'd tread carefully. My friend downloaded hers in .exe format versions and she still got spyware in hers. If i was you, i would do a system restore. Or just delete the other user account. But if it reappears, do a system restore, its the only sure way that it'll be deleted. (they only problem is, that you'll lose everything that you've got since then!!!)

Try system restore first, it may reset it back before this has happened. Worth a try..It does work on some occasions, as this is something I have tried and found that it works 95% of the time...

By using P2P sites, you are open to many problems. You are allowing a stranger access to your computer when you receive a file from them. Once you open the music/film (or other) file, they may have added a trojan/virus/downloader/keylogger etc to your computer. All this and more, and all because you wanted free CDs (or other things). Those who use P2P sites never learn, I'm afraid. They are more trouble than they're worth.

I agree with CERELLA 100 per cent, also run you anti virus software to scan for spyware, adware, dailers, joke programs, hack tools, trackware, keylogging software, all these could have or would have been installed on to your computer with out your consent. be wise dont use file sharing websites. good luck.

Consider starting afresh, wiping everything clean and reinstalling the operational system. You can email attachments of things you really want to keep to yourself. Then make sure you only use one antivirus software, as having two or more will always clash.

The problem with Morpheus and Limeware is that they work peer to peer. Which means your computer is available to anyone on their network.
