It could be a growth spurt or teething.
It's totally normal for their sleep patterns to change throughout the first year.
Remember she is working to double her birthweight by 6 mos of age.
And honestly, most ADULTS don't sleep 8 hours straight! We are just old enough to take care of whatever it is we need and get back to sleep on our own.

i think it is that she is just getting close to 4 months old and is having a growth spurt. now is a good time to start giving your daughter some rice cereal. i have a 3 year old daughter and when she was close to 4 months i started giving her some rice cereal by spoon from a bowl in the mornings for breakfast and bottles throughout the day, but then at dinner time i would give her another bowl of rice cereal and then right before bed she would have a bottle. she was sleeping through the night great. i never had many problems with her in the middle of the night though cause she started sleeping through the night on her own at about 2 months old. but like you are saying she did start waking up more as she got closer to 4 months so that's when i started the cereal. well your the mom and you know what is best for you daughter. just go with you gut feeling. good luck!

I have the same problem. Its been going on for two months...my daughter is now five months. I thought it was teeth or gas. I just figured she is hungry and needs to eat in the middle of the night. Now I'm starting to notice that she is eating less in the night and waking more...which to me means she isn't hungry. She goes to sleep on her own around 9/10, usually rather peacefully, so I know she can get back to bed on her own. I'm thinking she has realized that I come in and pick her up (because I feed her thinking she is hungry). Since she is only 3.5 months you probably should give her the luxury of the bottle in the middle of the night. But start looking for patterns, like not really eating that much. If she is still doing it in a month, it might be that she wants you to pick her up. Then you'll have to figure out how you want to handle it. I'm giving mine one month and then she is crying it out. I'm too tired now to keep getting up at night.
That whole food thing is wishful thinking. I started her on solids and I haven't seen any sleep changes.

You cant give a 15 week old baby cereal. Anyways you are suppose to start with Rice cereal because it is easier on the stomach but not until they are at least 3 months old. Try keeping her up a little later. Give her a warm bath with lavender (you can find it in the baby isle) give her a bottle right before bed.

she is growing and also she might not be getting enough food. My best friends little girl did the same thing. The Dr had her start putting the cereal in her milk to fill her more. It worked. Good luck

It's probably a growth spurt, she's hungry. This will pass.
Same thing is happening with my daughter.
