I ran a free scan and it tells me that I have a severe threat, but I do not have a credit card or anything to register with them so they will remove it. It said W#@/Noala.b@MHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\micRegValue Severe

One of the best FREE services available is at www.trendmicro.com. Look for the link that says free scan. This is a completely free scan and will remove adware from your computer. It does take a little while for the scan to finish, but it is a thorough scan of your computer.

The free scan is a scam. It always finds a "problem". The point is to make you buy the program.
Now you must get rid of the spyware that you downloaded (the scam program)
Do so by downloading these two free anti-spyware programs:
1.ad-aware.
2. spybot search and destroy
Google to find them
After that you should be ok again.
Oh, if you do not have anti-virus running get that and run that also.

Yes you can and you can clean-up your registry at the same time. I know this sounds like an advertisement but it is not. I found this program a couple of years ago; and have used it ever since. It's called Ccleaner. the first c stands for crap and that just what it does it cleans all the crap out of your computer. You can download it free and it is completely free.

P.S. The new version came out recently it's free also.

Don't fall for this one, you can get an extremely good adware program for free. Go to www.download.com and download Lavasoft Ad-ware SE. It is free for personal use and works splendidly. I have been using it for several years and has never let me down.

Most "free" scans on the internet lie. Some even PUT what they 'detect' there.

For a couple of good free scans

Try http://housecall.trendmicro.com

also try http://safety.live.com

If these do not fix it, try these free downloadable programs.

Ad-aware: http://www.lavasoft.de

Spybot: http://www.spybot.info/

Xcleaner: http://www.xblock.com/download/xcleaner_free.exe

AVG AntiSpyware: http://www.ewido.net
