This game was late 80's early 90's and was up to 5 tanks I think that sat on the ground at different elevations. You could buy different bombs to launch at the other tanks and the object was to either hit the tank or blast the ground out from under them until they hit the bottom. I loved this game and can't think of the title to try and find it.

The original game with this description is named "Scorched Earth" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scorched_Earth_%28computer_game%29 but there have been many remakes under many names. Also if you enjoyed this game you might like a similar game called "Worms" or an online game called "Gunbound"
