From the answers you're getting, I believe they speak of the current president. But as for the Elder Bush, I would say he was a World War II hero. Current President Bush cannot think of the anquish to go to war means, since he was set up in a nice cushy assignment @ Ellington Field.

If he kept his original focus in this war (bin Laden) instead of tearing up Iraq, he would have been looked upon more favorably.

He's doing the best he can with what he has. Unfortunately the result of that is a tarnished reputation of almost all Americans and the increased likelihood of terrorist attacks here, among other things.

I have respect for the office of the President of the United States and I support our troops. That said, our President is the furthest thing from a hero.

Aside from slandering his character, which would be easy and fun to do. What has he done to warrant being a hero? The definition of a hero is:
1. In mythology and legend, a man, often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favoured by the gods.
2. A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life: soldiers and nurses who were heroes in an unpopular war.
3. A person noted for special achievement in a particular field: the heroes of medicine.

I don't think there is any evidence that would make Bush a hero.

He was not a hero. He pretended to act as a hero indeed. By catching saddam and hanging him on the day of eid, he just wanted to regain his popularity among people. Bush's main aim after 9/11 was to get osama but he played politics with all this and turned his soldiers to Iraq and cought Saddam. Actually Saddam has increased the prices of petroleum product which he exported to america and thats why bush wanted kill him. Bush has not saved his country, actually america is now in more danger of being attacked by any terrorists group. Bush has failed completely failed in checkin terrorism, better to say he has increased terrorism indirectly by attacking IRAQ.

He might have been a hero had he actually gone after the Taliban after 9/11 instead of relegating the war on terror to second status in order to invade Iraq with a bunch of manipulated intelligence. He will go down as one the worst Presidents this country has ever endured.

Ok now i have picked myself off the floor after laughing so hard, i would have to say that Homer Simpson would be a better president, and thats despite being a cartoon character. Bush is witless wonder, with little regard for anything happening outside America.

Definetely not, how could anyone think he's a hero, more like a power hungry etc, etc, (trying to keep it nice).

What and when did this man do anything herioc? Research his father's history, and you may find some answers. I think more of JFK, Ford, and so forth.

Absolutely not. Hiding from the draft in the National Guard (and not fulfilling his commitment there), but happily sending thousands to their death so he could show up his Daddy by getting Saddam Hussein.

Even now, he understood he needed to change war plans back in September, but did nothing to shore himself up in the Congressional elections. So a few hundred more died in a failed strategy for his own political ends.

I'm not sure he's a hero but then again I don't think he's a Zero either. I think he has dealt with difficult situations, domestic and abroad, to the best of his abilities. No one can understand the pressure of the presidency nor should we berate the man for doing his job. We need to pray for him and all our leaders that they do what is best for our country.

No, he is a liar and a killer. He is a shame on humanity.

Those who say "he is doing everything to save America...bla bla bla", well, remember one thing, nobody give you and your president the right to declare war and kill thousands of innocent people for ensuring only your country's security. The world is not only America. The world belong to us all.
