No, people don't want to see a murder every 22 minutes in their country like the USA.

We are not trying to make Iraq into an American like country. The Iraqi people wrote their own constitution just like Afghanistan did when the major fighting was done in that country. Afghanistan decided to go with a parliamentary style of government, which is still a style of Democracy.
Democracy isn't a bad thing folks, it is the people deciding what they want and not allowing one man or women to rule the country for years or generations. Dictatorships have never worked for long and have always crumbled in bloodshed.
The only recent dictatorship that crumbled without a lot of bloodshed was Russia, but that took a lot of talking to finally get the people of Russia to have a voice.
But in the long run it will be up to the Iraqi people to decide what style of government they really want and how many terms they want their promary leader to serve.
Edit: We are waiting to see what happens with Cuba, but that's a small Island nation, which is much easier to be run by a dictator or a king.
As for Darfur. Something does need to be done. But why is it that the US has to do everything? I also don't feel we pick and choose as people on here think. We just need to have a better way of dealing with countries that all of a sudden decide to commit genocide.

First of all, America has no intention of Changing anything. The Iraqi's wrote their own constitution to include some Muslim law. This was a compromise that the Shiite, the Sunni's, and the Kurds, made amongst themselves. Why do some people refuse to understand the reality of things. It's getting rather old don't you think?

I dont think it is supposed to be "American like" the goal is to let the people of the middle east know there are other ways to live then oppression and under true fear on a daily basis. The middle eastern people have lived in a state of war, fear and oppression for generations and the radicals are using that to further their goals. The recent election in Iran shows the people are getting the idea that if they dont like a policy they vote opposite the group they dont agree with. It isn't going to change over night but it IS POSSIBLE if we dont "cut and run" It is going to take a breaking of the cycle and the effort of the people to understand and begin to revolt against their oppressors.

That may not be the intended reason that America , for example, invaded Iraq but I think the opposite is true, that America is changed
instead. I doubt this or any other president will unilaterally make a decision to engage any other country militarily unless that other country has openly declared war against it.

No, we can't change any country but our own. We can show the way, we can set an example, but any change in any Muslim country must come from them.
We can't change the world. The world can't change us. As long as people are willing to fight for a dictator, they'll have one. When they're willing to fight for freedom and equality, they'll get them.

What is American Like? USA used to have The House Unamerican Activities Committee. What is an Unamerican activity? Is American Like country one which has no national medical plan? Is it one like that has like crumbling infrastructure and an archaic tax system? Is it one that like allows any unconvicted, unemployed, uneducated, drug dealer, to buy as many guns as he can pay for? Is the example to be powerful enough to wage a pre emptive War but too weak to oversee peace and security?
I don't think the USA will be making many Muslim countries "American Like". Whatever that is.

Of course not. But I don't think that has ever been anyone's intention. Even Bush only proposes changing them to a Democratic form of government. I'm not convinced that will be much of a change, but that's his proposal - not to completely remake society.

Why would it be the right of any country to change another? Particularly when you have asked the question in reference to religion.
Democracy has been embraced by the west. Is it the right of western countries to spread that political agenda throughout the world? Why are we not so concerned about democracy in Darfur? Picking and choosing the countries that need our form of democracy based upon natural resources is reprehensible.

Not as long as JESUS and MOHAMMAD are in opposing leadership roles....any time religion dominates the political arena, little can be accomplished outside the turmoil of differing belief..Heck! even look at the Sunni and Shia disarray
