If a girl stares at you it is mainly because she likes you ;) So go ahead ask her! Trust me, when a guy asks you out its a HUGE compliment even if you no! Girls are like OMG HE ASKED ME OUT! How about first meeting a group of people at the movies and asking her to come (so you get used to each other again) Than ask her to go places a couple more times untill its only you and her.

I think she likes you.
But yea, rejection is mainly what stops people. If she does say no, then move on to someone else. There's always someone out there for you, just like that quote. "There is more than one fish in the sea."
Ask her. and see what she says. If you are too shy to do it in person, ask her through e-mail, IM, or a note.

don't be afraid of rejection. it's a part of life. if she stares at you then there's something there and i think you should ask her out. don't hesitate because someone else could steal her away from you.
