There are several ways to deal with it, the best one is to write everything down you can prove, times, places, what was said, etc., try and get a witness, two are better, and go to to HR with information, this will take a little time but a good thing as if she is doing this to you, you can bet she has done it to others and will continue to until someone gets it stopped. Also, if anyone causes you to have to quit, or you lose your job because of untrue gossip, that is slander and they can be sued for it, I would make her aware you will consider legal action if the harrassment does not stop.

some people who see you as a threat will treat you like that,,,,,, when i went threw this,,,, i found just standing up for myself,,,, and also often laughing it off,, helped,,,,, you have to decide which to do given the situation,,,,, if you give the appearance that it doesnt bother you (whether it does or not) she most likely will stop,,,, if you like your basic job, and the money,, maybe try to find ways to cope with it,,, taking the high road,,,,,,, in not talking about her,,, yet you can talk about how she makes you feel ,,,,,,, sort of like a polite innocent put down,,,,,, its hard to ignore gossip, but keep in mind you are there for the work and pay, not to be good friends,,,,,, im sure your co-workers see her for who she is, if she is talking about you today, it could be them tomorrow! so try to just learn to shrug it off, not care about their opinions, be yourself,,,,,, and do confront her(or the manager or human resources) if you have hard evidence,,,,, as its harassment if she continues,,,,,
