Keep a journal daily of what happens at work. So when you escalate this and your boss asks for specifics you will have them at hand, otherwise you will forget the smaller issues (that over time add up to a pattern of harrasment).

When you can prove a consistent pattern of harrasment document it and take it to your HR manager and suggest that they deal with it as it is impacting your job performance and you personally.

If that doesnt scare the bejusus out of them then consider talking to an attorney prior to quitting, wouldnt it be more satisfying for your supervisor to lose her job or get demoted over this than you quitting. If that happened nobody would ever mess with you again in this company.

There are several ways to deal with it, the best one is to write everything down you can prove, times, places, what was said, etc., try and get a witness, two are better, and go to to HR with information, this will take a little time but a good thing as if she is doing this to you, you can bet she has done it to others and will continue to until someone gets it stopped. Also, if anyone causes you to have to quit, or you lose your job because of untrue gossip, that is slander and they can be sued for it, I would make her aware you will consider legal action if the harrassment does not stop.

some people who see you as a threat will treat you like that,,,,,, when i went threw this,,,, i found just standing up for myself,,,, and also often laughing it off,, helped,,,,, you have to decide which to do given the situation,,,,, if you give the appearance that it doesnt bother you (whether it does or not) she most likely will stop,,,, if you like your basic job, and the money,, maybe try to find ways to cope with it,,, taking the high road,,,,,,, in not talking about her,,, yet you can talk about how she makes you feel ,,,,,,, sort of like a polite innocent put down,,,,,, its hard to ignore gossip, but keep in mind you are there for the work and pay, not to be good friends,,,,,, im sure your co-workers see her for who she is, if she is talking about you today, it could be them tomorrow! so try to just learn to shrug it off, not care about their opinions, be yourself,,,,,, and do confront her(or the manager or human resources) if you have hard evidence,,,,, as its harassment if she continues,,,,,

i have the same experience..and i know some people have had also..just go to human resources and tell them that you dont feel comfortable in the work environment because of the things your boss said to you. tell them it's like you're being harassed or something.. and yes, i would just quit..you can only take so much from one person.

Talk with HR and point out that you have discussed the situation with your manager already. Ask if the company has a dispute resolution program. If they will investigate at least they can determine where the problem lies and who is responsible.

next time you feel you're being mistreated just bluntly ask your manager to provide with a company handbook, which most employers are obligated to provide. use your break to peruse the rules and regulations of your company and the chain of command. speak to human resources or your manager's supervisor. there are laws against mistreatment and harassment, just make sure you're the model employee and you'll be alright.

Before you quit, you should see your HR dept. Mention the phrase 'hostile work environment'. Be sure to have documentation of your supervisor's actions with you.

This behavior constitutes harassment.

start a rumor about her. fight fire with a blow torch. make a fake doctors letter head, and put on the symptoms line- Ghoneria. Put it somewhere you know a co-worker with a big mouth will find and tell everyone. This way its not traceable back to you and when everyone thinks she is a s l u t for having ghoneria they will care less about what she has to say about you or anyone else for that matter.

You should talk to Human Resources. They will talk to her about her behavior if that doesn't stop her she will be the one leaving. If you like your job why should you be the one in misery if it's someones fault.

yes, go to hr, tell them everything about your boss and give hr the writing list that you have been documenting. and request to be moved to another department to work under another supervisor.
if they don't move you, then give you notice and on the exit interview you can also report you boss.
good luck
