Hello,
You could try Additions Direct or Dorothy Perkins... the first being the cheaper although you might get something in the sale.
Also, have you heard of the Freecycle website - they are based all over the UK and you can join any of them. You can post a WANTED advert and most of the time people are very generous and get in touch (especially stuff like maternity and baby stuff as this is a once/twice situation for most).
Hope that all helps. Sending you warm wishes

You don;t necessarily need to have a 'maternity coat', any coat large enough to fit round you will do.
You can often pick up large sizes like size 24 and 26, in the sales, so don't just look in the maternity section. I'm expecting in a few months and got a nice size 26 shirt in the sales for £3, so I think often these sizes are going cheaper.
Also try ebay, you will certainly find one for less than £45

you could also try a consignment store for infants and maternity stuff. They are a lot of them around. There is a chain store called Once Upon A Child in my area. They are used, but the store refuses anything worn, stained, or out of style. This is a great way to find pricey maternity iteams since you never use them long enough to pay a large sum for them. Good Luck.

Have you thought about buying a shawl, cape, pashmina or poncho? I had a poncho and a smart long black wool shawl when I was pregnant and I've been able to use both since having my baby - I just wrap the shawl differently now I don't have a huge bump! There are lots of shops where you can buy shawls, ponchos and capes. They're pretty reasonable as they're not specialist maternity items and if you can use them afterwards, it doesn't seem such a huge expense.

Try your hubby's coat instead of the one you normally wear.
