I want to better the appearance of my eyebrows, but want to know if anyone can suggest a good pair of tweezers that helps with reducing pain? I stopped getting my brows professionally done because the wax would cause my skin to break out. Even when they used tweezers, my whole forehead would turn red from the pain of getting my eyebrows plucked. Ughhh, I hate pain and it became really embarrassing so I just gave up and stopped getting them waxed!! I got the same results at every single salon I've visited whether waxed or plucked. Can anyone share their experiences, suggest a good quality of tweezers and let me know how much you paid for them? I'm not worried about the price, I just want to get rid of the pain and embarrassment of waxing :-( Can anyone suggest any? Thanks guys!

Tweezers can be inexpensive or pricey, but the amount you spend has nothing to do with the amount of pain you experience. I've had both, but I still prefer the cheap ones from Revlon with the slanted tip. If you want to make tweezing less painful, most beauty supply stores, like Sally's, carry a pre-wax cleanser that will provide a numbing effect. Just don't use ice to numb your skin, because it will shrink your pores, making the hairs even more difficult (painful) to pull out.

Instead of thinking about tweezers, think about a topical numbing solution to ease the pain. I know waxing does irritate the skin but there are products out there (think something like anbesol) which could numb a little. I usually pluck after a warm shower or warming with a washcloth to open the pores. I always thought my hairs were like little anchors under my skin, cause they hold so tight but the pain doesn't really bother me (except long ago when epilady came out ... couldn't stand that little torture device.
good luck

no matter what the brand you use make sure you pull the skin apart to get to the hair to pull at the root area.

pulling the skin apart from the hair makes the pain less intense.
pulling from the base (root area) of the hair is less painfull also. (try it with a hair from your head).
do only 1 hair at a time.

it's not necessarily the brand, but the way it's done that makes a huge difference. look closely at the way the tweezers match up when closed.

good tweezers won't reduce pain, but to reduce pain, you must know how to pull it in a right way. For a good tweezer, try Bobbi Brown (lil bit expensive)

i use tweezerman & it doesn't hurt. the thing with tweezerman, though, is that there are cheaper ones & professional. i have both & i find that the more expensive ones hurt less & are easier to use. so it's worth the investment to just get good ones.
